Luis Ávila has built institutions, media platforms, and leadership pipelines that respond directly to the political, cultural, and economic realities shaping Latino and immigrant life in the United States. He has produced award-winning print, radio, and digital media, which have appeared in The Arizona Republic, Phoenix New Times, La Voz, CNN en Español, Radio Fórmula, and KJZZ. Luis previously served as vice chair of UnidosUS, the nation’s largest Latino civil rights organization, and as board chair of TNTP, a national education nonprofit.
Luis is the author of Nómada Temporal, a book of chronicles, and regularly publishes essays, fiction, and reflections through La Bella Práctica. He has also worked as an actor and radio producer. Luis is a Pahara Fellow, part of the Aspen Global Leadership Network, and he received a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University.
