Dr. Danna Diaz has served the interests of public schools for three decades in various positions within urban, suburban, and rural school systems. Her administrative career includes 28 years as an administrator in five states: Texas, Pennsylvania, Florida, Washington, and Oregon. Danna also worked as a bilingual teacher for 7 years in Texas. Recently, she was the project manager for the three pilot zones in Puerto Rico's decentralization process and currently serves as an educational consultant for the Puerto Rico Department of Education.
Danna is an advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, from students to administration. She understands the importance of continuous improvement and believes in utilizing multiple data measures to ensure growth in the areas of student outcomes and school/district-level processes. Known for her no-nonsense attitude and unparalleled work ethic, Danna's reputation in the education community precedes her, which is why she served as superintendent of schools. She is also a well-known author of the book Servant Leadership: My Journey from Teacher to Superintendent—Seven Principles to Guide Women Educators on Their Path to Success.
