Dr. Johanna Moya Fábregas draws on her extensive background in non-profit work, higher education, and public education to emphasize collaboration across various sectors. Her key areas of focus include intercultural communication, fundraising, research, storytelling, and leadership. Johanna aims to highlight the significance of multicultural education and empowerment.
Johanna leads Con Mi MADRE to prepare the next generation of Latinas, with the involvement of their mother, to successfully graduate high school, complete a college degree on time, and enter the workforce. Con Mi MADRE partners with local school districts to provide a curriculum focused on social-emotional learning and college readiness to students from sixth grade through their college years.
Johanna holds a bachelor’s degree in Latin American studies and French from the University of Wisconsin and a master’s degree in Latin American and Caribbean studies and a doctorate in history from Indiana University-Bloomington.
