Danny is the principal of North Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana.  His 23-year career has spanned the entire K–12 spectrum.  Danny is a multi-award-winning educational leader.  He has dedicated his career to proving that students' circumstances don't have to dictate their outcomes.

Dr. Danny Mendez holds a Ph.D. in educational leadership from Indiana State University.  He has served as a principal at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.  Danny has always led high-poverty schools with large English-language learner populations.  During his time as a principal, Danny has led schools to three national awards: the 2010 National Title I Distinguished School, the 2013 TAP Ambassador School, and the 2016 TAP Founders’ Award.

Danny has received the following honors:

2022 IASP Indiana Middle School Principal of the Year
2022 IASP District 9 Middle School Principal of the Year
2017 Perry Township Schools Humanitarian Service Award
2013 IASP District 7 Elementary School Principal of the Year
