Lemuer is a Puerto Rican educator.  He was raised in New Jersey and has worked in public education, charter schools, university, and the private sector.  Lemuer was awarded the 2020–2021 Top 100 Innovative Educators in the World and is the 2022 Jersey City Puerto Rican Principal of the Year.

Lemuer Perez De Jesus was born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico and raised in Passaic, New Jersey.  As an English language learner, he quickly excelled and graduated from Passaic High School.  Lemuer graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a bachelor’s degree in history and a master’s degree in teaching.  In addition, he earned a master’s degree in educational leadership and administration from New Jersey City University.

Lemuer worked as a math coach, principal, and school lead at Jersey City Global Charter School in New Jersey.  He is an adjunct professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University, a GED instructor at Newark Tech, and is transitioning to the Newark Public Schools to be a special assistant.
